Last updated: 5 November 2026
This policy explains what personal information Tap & Tell collects when you use this website or order from us, why we collect it, and your rights over it. We keep things simple: we only collect what we need to make and deliver your card, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Tap & Tell is a business run by Georgie Pitt, a self-employed sole trader based in London, United Kingdom. We are the "controller" of the personal information described in this policy.
Contact: tapandtell@outlook.com
What we collect
- Order requests: your first and last name, email address, phone number (if given), which card you want, how many, the link you want your card to open, the name and job title to print (Personalised cards), whether you're a student, and anything you write in the message box.
- Bulk quote requests: your name, email, phone (if given), your organisation, who the cards are for, how many you need, branding preferences, the date you need them by, and your message.
- Student discount checks: if you ask for a student discount, we may ask you to confirm it from your university email address.
- Emails you send us: whatever you include when you contact us.
- Delivery and payment details: your delivery address and a record of your payment when we confirm your order.
- Technical information: our website host stores a small piece of data in your browser so our forms can work, and your browser connects to Google Fonts to display our typefaces, which shares your IP address with Google.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To quote for, make and deliver your order, including programming your card with your link and printing your details. Legal basis: taking steps to enter into, and performing, a contract with you.
- To reply to your questions and keep you updated about your order. Legal basis: contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
- To keep business and tax records such as invoices and sales records. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- To check eligibility for a student discount. Legal basis: contract, at your request.
We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted services that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Wix, which hosts this website and stores form submissions.
- Microsoft (Outlook), which we use for email.
- Our card printing supplier, which receives the name, job title and design details to print on Personalised cards.
- Postal or courier services, which receive your name and delivery address.
- Payment providers, which process your payment. We don't see or store your full card details.
- HMRC or other authorities, if the law requires it.
Some of these services may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 6 years, as required for tax purposes.
- Enquiries and quote requests that don't become an order: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- The link programmed into your card stays on the card itself, which belongs to you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your information (unless we must keep it, for example for tax records);
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send your information to you or another organisation in a portable format.
Email tapandtell@outlook.com to make a request. We'll reply within one month and there's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping your information safe
We use secure, password-protected accounts for our website and email, and we limit access to your information to what's needed to complete your order.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
